Life
Jared was the son of Sharon L. "Sherri", a high school teacher and a tax supervisor, Gerald R. Padalecki. Jared had an interest in acting since always. When Jared was just twelve years old, he started taking acting lessons.

He belongs to European American and Polish descent. Jared has two siblings, one elder brother Jeff and younger sister, Megan.

In San Antonio, Jared went to James Madison High School. For 2000 Presidential Scholars Program, he was termed as candidate of the year. Then in the year 1998, in Duo Interpretation, Jared and his mate Chris succeed in National Forensic League national championship.

In the year 1999, Jared won FOX’s "Claim to Fame Contest".
Jared went to Los Angeles, after when he completed his graduation in the year2000, so that there he can practice an acting career. 
Career
Jared started his acting career with a minor role in “A Little Inside” in the year 1999.
Then in the year 2000, he got an opportunity to appear on “Gilmore Girls” as Dean Forester that is more or less like a milestone in his professional career, as with this portrayal, he got huge publicity. He continued this appearance till 2005.
He also appeared in some television films like, “Silent Witness”, “Close to Home”, and “A Ring of Endless Light”.
Jared also appeared in 2003's comedy “Cheaper by the Dozen”. In it, he portrayed the role of a high school bully. Then in the year 2004, Jared appeared in a comedy “New York Minute” by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. In the same year, he also appeared in “Flight of the Phoenix”.

In the subsequent year, Jared appeared in a very popular horror film, “House of Wax”. In this film, his role was opposite to the well known celebrities Elisha Cuthbert, Chad Michael Murray and Paris Hilton. He was also there in another horror film “Cry Wolf”.
In the year 2008, Jared appeared in film “The Christmas Cottage”. In this film he played the role of Thomas Kinkade.
In the horror film “Friday the 13th” Jared played the main lead role alongside Danielle Panabaker.
Jared also has an out of the queue experience as the host of MTV’s “Room 401”, a horror reality series.

Personal Life
Jared’s much loved book is “The Great Gatsby”. He loves ice-cream and his favorite flavor is chocolate chip cookie dough. Whereas his favorite food is cheeseburger served with mustard lettuce and tomato.
