Life
Jensen was born as the son of Donna Joan and actor Alan Roger. Jensen has two siblings, elder brother Joshua and younger sister Mackenzie. Jensen belongs to Scottish and Irish descent. Initially he desired to pursue his study in sports medicine at Texas Tech University and to make a career as a physical therapist, however inspite of this, he went to LA to make a career in acting.

Career
Jensen began his career with guest appearances on “Mr. Rhodes”, “Sweet Valley High”, and “Cybill”. After these guest appearances, he joined the cast of NBC’s “Days of our Lives” in the year 1997 portraying the role of Eric Brady.
The next year, he was honored with the Soap Opera Digest Award in the “best newcomer male” category. And then for the next three consecutive years he was nominated in Daytime Emmy Award for his portrayal in “Days of our Lives”. He earned these nominations in the category of “Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series”.
After when he quitted his portrayal from “Days of our Lives” in the year 2000, he appeared in the mini-series “Blonde”.
He had also auditioned for the role of Clark Kent on “Smallville”, however actor Tom Welling was given this opportunity.
Then he appeared as a guest star on the very popular TV series “Dark Angel”, playing the role of a serial killer Ben/X5-493.
The he appeared on the WB's super hit TV show “Dawson's Creek” in its final season. There he portrayed the role of CJ.
Jensen also had a small role in 2004’s film “The Plight of Clownana”. In the same year, Jensen came back to Vancouver to play a series regular role on the well known TV series Smallville. He was playing the role of Jason Teague, the football coach. Afterwards, he also managed to get the role of Jake Gray in the 2005’s “Devour”. In “Devour”, Jensen’s real life father was portraying the role of Jake’s father.

Then in the year 2007, Jensen appeared in the independent comedy “Ten Inch Hero” playing the role of Priestly. He was highly appreciated and admired for this portrayal.
He also has theatre experience, as he had also appeared on stage with Lou Diamond Phillips in “A Few Good Men” at Casa Mañana Theatre. He played the role of Lt. Daniel Kaffee. This role was his professional theatrical debut and he did it so perfectly that he was very much admired for it.
In the year 2008, Jensen was also there is the wonderful movie “My Bloody Valentine 3D”. This movie was also a big hit and everyone like Jensen’s work in it.

Supernatural
His appearance on Supernatural is remembered the most among all his other experiences. His portrayal of Dean Winchester was so popular that he became a household name. In the show he and his brother Sam were in a battle against the evils.

Personal Life
Jensen loves baseball and he use to play baseball and lacrosse when he was in high school. He is also a huge fan of Dallas Cowboys.
Jensen also very passionate about horseback riding. He is also good at singing and knows how to play guitar. In addition to all these likings, he is also a very enthusiastic photographer.
